What's the one thing you can't do without me?

What's the one thing you can't do without me?
or do you only want me under your control 
to decide when you're ready to do what you want 
for me to lock-step and follow?
why can't we both find happiness on our own journeys?
why must my journey be tied to yours when 
there's nowhere you're going outside of survival 
and no love to be made that's convenient enough?
can't you move on with the things you enjoy
what you have been doing all along 
without my distraction and  diversion?
surely the world will look brighter 
when you consider the ways your burden lifted.
